    Better Public Transport for Queensland

    news_LNPlogo

Only the LNP can be trusted to improve Queensland’s public transport system, we have done it before and will do it again. Under the LNP, Queensland Rail went from the worst on time running rail service in Australia – to the best.

We stopped Annastacia Palaszczuk’s 15% year on year transport fare increase and we also delivered the first public transport fare reduction. Commuters are sick and tired of Labor’s rail fail; it’s time to get public transport back on track.

    QLD Labor’s Rail Fail:

    • 470 services a week have been cut under Labor’s Rail Fail.
    • There are not enough drivers for the services that South East Queensland needs, because the Labor government is beholden to unions who refuse to recruit.
    • Queenslander’s are paying about $1 million a fortnight in overtime due to the lack of trained operators.

Only the LNP will deliver the congestion-busting public transport infrastructure Queensland needs.

    Cutting Payroll Tax

    news_LNPlogo

The LNP has committed to lifting the payroll tax exemption threshold by $25,000 every year for the next decade so Queensland businesses pay less tax, giving local business the boost it needs to get ahead.

The LNP’s plan will see the payroll tax exemption threshold increase to $1.35 million and businesses with payrolls up to $6.75 million will receive a deduction providing a further boost to large employers in the community; generating more jobs for you and your family.

It is estimated that more than 14,000 small to medium sized businesses across the state will benefit from the LNP’s plan to reduce taxes.

Queensland Labor have once again demonstrated that they are out of touch with the community. Ask yourself, how can you afford another 3 years of Labor?

    It’s Time to Build a Second M1

    Second M1_Social Share

The M1 is reaching capacity and the constant traffic delays and backlogs are not only frustrating to motorists but are an economic hand brake and jobs killer for the state. That’s why an alternative is needed now!

A second M1 will be a truly transformative project for South East Queensland. The corridor is largely preserved, it just needs a State Government to commit and get it done.

If you are sick and tired of being stuck in traffic on the M1 sign the petition for a second M1.

  • Biggera Waters State School Student Leaders

This morning I had the pleasure of presenting badges to Biggera Waters State School’s 2017 Student Leaders. I’m sure those elected will be a positive influence on their school and peers, and deliver great things for Biggera Waters in 2017!

    Merry Christmas!

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a Safe and Happy 2017.

This year has been one of highs and lows for all, but Christmas is an opportunity to come together with family and friends and celebrate the most important of things: each other. We all have our own family traditions, and as families grow and expand new traditions join with old ones.

I love Christmas: spending time with my family, sharing gifts with children and a bountiful home cooked meal (though this year I’m in charge of the Turkey so potentially will be less bountiful than years gone by) with everyone together.

Australian Christmases are so often marked by the sounds of laughter as families debate whether or not that really was LBW in the annual beach cricket classic before settling down to watch our boys at the MCG. But I’m also conscious not everyone is as blessed as many of us, so please take a moment to think about those less fortunate than us or who are struggling this Christmas. Whatever your background, faith or creed, I hope you take the opportunity to relax, refresh and enjoy time with family and friends as 2016 draws to a close and 2017 breaks a new dawn.

If travelling this holiday season, please stay safe on our roads! Also, my office will be closed from lunchtime Wednesday the 21st until Monday January 9.

I look forward to keeping in touch in 2017.

    Yours,
